Multi-Styled Vest with Guest Instructor Suzanne Nielsen

The “Mountain Gods” vest is sure to become one of your favorite pieces to wear! It can be worn upside down, right side up, open, or closed with your favorite shawl pin. The class will cover everything that you need to know to complete the pattern. Thus, you will learn a unique hemmed cast-on and bind-off to create clean borders, how to set things up so that you don’t need to look at the pattern very often, and other useful tips such as making your left leaning decreases look as neat as your right ones! The class will also include styling tips and of course help choosing your yarn.

  • Recommended Yarn:
  • Scrap yarn of Serenity Silk + will be provided for the class if you would like to wait and purchase Zen from the Trunk Show Suzanne will be bringing with her.
  • If you would like to use another yarn (Twisted Owl, Shalimar Aerie, Hedgehog, etc.) please bring that to class.

Suzanne has a background in engineering but her love of yarn is drawing her deeper and deeper into the fiber world where she is thrilled to be the Western US representative for Zen Yarn Garden and several other fabulous lines. While she did not start knitting or crocheting until after college when she taught herself on a whim, her parents did prepare her from an early age. They would tie her shoelaces in knots to keep her entertained while they drove endlessly through the desert. She hopes this skill and a love for puzzles will help her continue designing and teaching to inspire fiber artists.
