Weaving Plaid Class, May 4th 12-3pm

Wow! Check out this amazing scarf. Learn to weave this fun, colorful plaid scarf. This class will teach you how to manage 3 shuttles, carry yarns neatly up the edge, simple hemstitching and how to achieve nice selvedges. You will also learn how to easily warp your loom with odd thread groups using only the warping peg. A discussion of finishing the scarf will also be covered. Class fee: $35/3hrs. Seats are limited. Prerequisite: Beginning weaving.

YfY introduces a new member to our teaching team, Cheryl Goyer
Cheryl will be teaching intermediate Rigid Heddle Weaving as well as knitting classes. Cheryl has been knitting for over 50 years and crocheting almost as long. By living in the Pacific Northwest afforded Cheryl many opportunities to learn from knowledgeable fiber artists and weaving teachers, most notably Judith MacKenzie and Janie Taylor. Cheryl is a passionate weaver, knitter and spinner. Cheryl teaching experience includes knitting classes taught in Oregon and North Carolina, beginning weaving classes taught in North Carolina. Her goal as a teacher “is to nurture each student’s creative potential”. We welcome her talent and fiber knowledge.
