Himalaya which means House of Snow is the highest mountain range; which houses 9 out of 20 highest peak on earth. Himalayan range is created by tectonic plates pushing against each other. This is the reason why the Mountain is always growing. The most famous peak is the Mount Everest. Three of the world's major rivers; theIndus, the Ganges and the Brahmaputra arise in the Himalayas. The climate ranges from tropical at the base of the mountains to permanent ice and snow at the highest elevations. Magnificent fauna and floral can be seen in the different levels of the mountain heights. The mountain is also a pilgrimage site for the Hindus and Buddhist.
